HEIS SOMA
Being in junior high is an
extremely unique time in your
life because you are starting to
think and make decisions on your
own. The friends you choose, and
the things you spend your time
doing shape the kind of person
you going to become whether
realize it yet or not. Now
you’re probably thinking, “Yeah
whatever, I’ve heard that a
thousand times before,” but the
sooner you realize this, the
less pain and confusion you will
face in the years to come.
I
know you have extremely busy
lives with school, family,
friends, etc... and how you
spend your time says the most
about what your priorities in
life are. I encourage you to
make God your priority more than
anything else. You can start to
do this by changing the way you
spend your time. For example,
you can read your Bible before
going on the internet or
listening to music, or you can
choose to go to church and serve
others instead of hanging out
with friends as much. God sees
these things that you do for Him
and he rewards us for doing
them. But good works don’t do
you or God any good if you don’t
love him. What God really wants
is your heart.
Lots
o’ luv, Chelcea Cupples
COFFEE TALK
Parents: I would love to
meet with you! Time isn't
something that most of us can
spare, but sometimes there are
things that are worth making
time for. I believe that you are
one of those things for me.
Getting to know each other,
talking about and praying for
your kids, and sharing ideas
about how we can walk closer
with God and encourage our kids
to do the same is a great use of
my time (and hopefully yours).
If there is anything you would
like to talk about to get to
know me better, I am available.
Tuesday through Friday
afternoons are pretty much open
for me, as are Sunday
afternoons. If you would
like to meet please let me know.

HUME LAKE!
Hume Lake is back! Last
summer was an awesome experience
for us as a Jr. High group, and
we can't wait to experience what
God has in store for us this
year. Camp this year will be
from July 27th to August 2nd. We
have changed our dates to try to
accommodate sports and band
schedule within the Poway School
system.
We
are starting our fundraisers
early this year and hope to
bring down the cost of camp to
$300 per student! |

FUNDRAISER!!
Our
major fundraiser for Hume Lake
this year was a Youth
Auction. We auctioning
out skills and labor that our
kids and others in the church
could offer, along with items
donated by different companies.
If you weren't able to come but
wanted to support the youth, we
have set up a site where you can
make a donation if you would
like -

Chelcea Cupples, Youth Intern
Whether it’s surfing, guitar,
or raising her bowling score, Chelcea is always willing to try
new things as long as it’s an
excuse to have fun with friends.
She has already served and
worked at C28 for three years.
Now, as she continues her
ministry at C28 and starts her
ministry with the Jr. High, she
is excited to share all that God
has taught her and help students
begin training for the purpose
of godliness, and continue for
the rest of their lives.
Chelcea has lived with her
parents in San Diego for 11
years and has been blessed with
being raised in the church. She
has two younger sisters, Mae
Leah and Kiana. Though she will
not be the one to tell you, she
is one of the kindest, most
caring person you will ever
meet. The love she shows stems
from the love she has received
by her creator. |
